covid antibody

Antigen vs. Antibody

Our clinic performs two types of COVID-19 tests, an antigen, and an antibody test. Tests availability is subject to change.

Rapid Antigen tests are an anterior nare swab used for the detection of the novel coronavirus in symptomatic patients. This test shows if you have an active coronavirus infection and should take steps to quarantine or isolate yourself from others. Results in as little as 15 minutes.

Rapid Antibody tests identify active (IgM) or past (IgG) infections by looking for antibodies against the specific virus. A positive antibody test indicates that a person had an immune response to SARS-CoV-2 regardless of the presence of symptoms. Results in as little as fifteen minutes.
